Sooo...we had a slight mishap with North Beach Pizza last week for our combined Retail meeting when the delivery guy kept asking for an imprint of TQ's credit card even though she has paid online (TQ can elaborate). But today takes the cake.
The pizza delivery guy calls me at 4:45 and tells me he is downstairs. I ask him to bring the pizza to the 4th floor. He tells me he in unable to bring pizza into the lobby because the security guards hassle him. I try to argue with him to no avail, give up, and tell him I'll meet him downstairs. I run downstairs. No pizza guy. I run around the corner to the Embarcadero side of the building. No pizza guy. I end up running all around the building. No pizza guy. I run back up to the 4th floor to call him (and I am not exaggerating, I was haulin'). My phone is ringing as I get to my desk, and lo & behold, it's the pizza guy. He apologizes and claims that he is dyslexic and went to 1 Harrison instead of 2 Harrison and NOW he is downstairs in front of our building. He still REFUSES to bring the pizza upstairs, citing the same reasons listed above. So I run back downstairs and to my surprise he is actually there. I take the pizza (no time to argue AGAIN) and run back to the meeting. Finally.
I partly needed to vent because I was so frustrated with this situation and partly needed to inform all of you that North Beach Pizza for some reason thinks they can't bring food into our building or to our floor. I called NBP and talked to the manager and he assured me this will not happen again. Whatever sort of notation that was on our account regarding food delivery has been removed and they will be bringing our orders to the 4th Floor (unless otherwise specified) from now on. Just wanted to give you all a heads up for when you order with them. Because although it was a great workout to run around the building like a madwoman asking random people if they had seen a pizza guy, and I'm sure some people got a good laugh watching me run around (because I passed the same people several times)... it really wasn't all that fun.
